SkyTeam Push a Co-location Strategy with the Airports

SkyTeam, the global airline alliance partnering eleven members – including Aeroflot, Aeroméxico, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern Airlines, Continental Airlines, CSA, Delta Air Lines, KLM, Korean Air and Northwest Airlines – and three Associate carriers – Air Europa, Copa Airlines and Kenya Airways – sets itself apart by offering an exclusive experience for all passengers. SkyTeam is exploring the options for cooperating more together with the airports, such as London Heathrow International Airport (LHW) and Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) etc, through a co-location strategy.
Four SkyTeam Carriers to Co-locate at MEX

Since November 2007, Aeroméxico and Delta Air Lines have co-located at Terminal 2 in Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) Mexico City. This year, Continental Airlines and SkyTeam Associate Copa Airlines will join Delta and Aeroméxico. This co-location will offer self-service check-in kiosks, airtrain transportation for connections and aircoaches for those who have less time between connecting flights.

“This is a strong strategic move for the SkyTeam alliance,” said Estibaliz Cruz, senior vice president, alliances and strategic planning, Aeroméxico. “Passengers traveling with these carriers will experience seamless connections consistent with SkyTeam standards.”
