China Southern Inks Exclusive Use of Terminal One at Xianyang Airport
XI’AN, China - September 20, 2007 - China Southern Airlines, (NYSE: ZNH, HKSE: 1055, SHA 600029) - www.flychinasouthern.com - the 9th largest airline in the world and the largest airline in The People’s Republic of China has acquired the exclusive use of Terminal One at Xianyang International Airport, located here.
The deal marks the second all-China Southern airport terminal outside of the airline’s worldwide home at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou – as China Southern has full flight operations at Terminal One at Beijing Capital International Airport.
Located some 30 kilometers from downtown Xi’an, the brand new Terminal One at Xi’an’s Xianyang International Airport officially opened to the public on September 12.
Passengers can now take China Southern flights and flights operated by the airline’s subsidiary carriers exclusively from Terminal One.
As all China Southern Airlines’ flights are moved to the new terminal here, airport officials expect the new terminal to significantly alleviate passenger congestion at the current Terminal Two.
