China Southern Expands FFP Portfolio To Include Eco-Tourism Adventures;Largest FFP In China Offers New Travel Excursions to China¡¯s OutbackGUANGZHOU, China, June 5, 2006 - China Southern Airlines, (NYSE: ZNH, HKSE: 1055, SHA 600029) - www.csair.com/en - with the largest and most technically advanced aircraft fleet in The People's Republic of China has branched out its offering to its frequent flyer members to present its first-ever, eco-tourism reward product. During the recently concluded, week-long Labor Day Holidays, China Southern¡¯s Sky Pearl Club organized and completed its first two adventure eco-tourism excursions for 38 Sky Pearl Club members. With the assistance of the Yunnan Aviation & International Travel Agency, the nearly three-dozen Sky Pearl Club members jumped into four-wheel drive, off-road jeeps for their week-long journey. This week-long adventure cost each Sky Pearl Club member around 2,000 RMB ($250 USD) ¡ and spanned more than 1,600 miles, earning each FFP member 3,000 bonus kms for the week-long expedition. Escaping the hustle of ultra-modern Kunming, the caravan of airline frequent flyers headed West into China¡¯s distant Outback ¡ a mythical land shrouded in ancient secrets, songs and dance; a fantastic land filled with ancient paintings and music dating back thousands of years. It is a land where today horses are still used as the #1 means of transportation to carry tea from the farms to market. This ancient path is also called ¡°path for tea by horse in Southwest China¡± and is the shortest overland route from China to the mountains of Myanmar. For the Sky Pearl Club explorers, it was also a trek through land of hope ¡ as before leaving ¡°civilization¡±, each adventurer brought with them special gifts for the children of this remote region and their small community school, trying in some small way to help improve their educational studies. After one-day¡¯s drive along rugged mountain roads, the group arrived at two different villages. The first hosted a local Wua Tribe Carnival - filled with many of the traditional customs and practices of this ancient Wua culture. The second village was completely opposite ¡ a tranquil community nestled in all sides by lush semi-tropical forests. Such was the bulk of the remaining days in an off-road adventure, supping a land seemingly untouched by man.
