| CHINA SOUTHERN CELEBRATES THE HOLIDAYS WITH DELIVERY OF FINAL 737-700; CHINA¡¯S LARGEST AIRLINE RETURNS WITH NEW AIRCRAFT FOR ZHUHAI ZHUHAI, China ¨C December 27, 2004 - China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH, HKSE: 1055, SHA 600029) - www.csair.com/en - the largest airline in The People¡¯s Republic of China, is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of its 20th - and final - new 737-700 series aircraft for its expanding operations in Zhuhai in Southern China. ¡°Title transfer of the aircraft was made on 23 December and we ¡®island hopped¡¯ this brand new aircraft across the Pacific (California to Hawaii to Saipan) to arrive here Christmas morning,¡± said Mr. Shen Tai Ran, General Manager of China Southern Airlines¡¯ Maintenance & Engineering Department. Mr. Shen served as the team leader for China Southern Airlines on the delivery of this new aircraft which will be used here at China Southern¡¯s Zhuhai Airlines. The delivery of China Southern¡¯s newest passenger aircraft is the last of 20 new Boeing 737-800 and 700 series of ¡°Next Generation¡± aircraft in deal that was inked on October 3, 2001. China Southern Airlines currently has no other current orders for new Boeing aircraft. The 20 new Boeing 737 aircraft have replaced the same number of existing
737 series aircraft currently operated by China Southern Airlines and
will significantly lower the average age of the airline¡¯s fleet - already
