China Southern Celebrates 10 th Anniversary of Flying College ;

Perth-based Flight School Reaches 1 st Decade Mark

PERTH, Western Australia - March 24, 2004 - China Southern Airlines (NYSE: ZNH) (HKSE: 1055), www.csair.com/en , the largest airline in The People's Republic of China is celebrating this week's 10 th Anniversary of the China Southern Western Australia Flying College, www.cswafc.com.au .

“The college specializes in training airline pilots for China Southern Airlines taking raw recruits with no flying experience through their PPL and CPL with instrument rating. Cadet pilots graduate from the China Southern Western Australia Flying College as fully trained co-pilots in high performance jet aircraft,?said Mr. Qian Wei, Principal and Managing Director, China Southern Western Australia Flying College. More than 780 qualified pilots have graduated from the college and either has or is currently flying for China Southern Airlines.

Located at Jandakot Airport , a 20 minutes drive from Perth , the China Southern Western Australia Flying College also owns and operates the Merredin Aerodrome, 250 kilometers east of Perth in the heart of the wheat belt area of the country.

Mr. Qian added that, “having bases in both Merredin and Jandakot, provides the opportunity for the safest initial flying environment, while still allowing cadets to fly into an international airport. The Jandakot facility has been designed for every aspect of flight training, and includes an engineering department, maintenance hangars, a computer based training facility and access to all types of airspace and instrument approach systems. Merredin was chosen because of its flat, open country and a low rural population where cadets can learn the fundamentals of navigation.?/p>

The China Southern Western Australia Flying College employs around 100 people, in fields ranging from flight and ground instructors, to engineers, administrative personnel and operations staff and owns a modern an up-to-date fleet of more than 50 specialized aircraft, including G115 Glob single engine German technology trainers, US-based twin-engine Piper Seneca V's and high performance Cessna Citation jets.

The college takes prides in setting the very highest standards and exceeding the rigorous levels demanded by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia. Instructors thoroughly test cadets in all phases of training from ground theory to flight simulation and all flight training exercises. Ground school at the college's Jandakot facility is fully equipped with a fully functional CBT system and an extensive resource center.
